Microsoft Access
Many of us have been using Microsoft Office applications
such as Word and Excel, but there is another program in the MS Office suite
called Access, which many of us have not used. Access is a database management
program that allows us to store, organize and retrieve information. Access also
allows us to query data and produce some nice looking reports.
Before I have use word and excel to store data because I did
not have any idea of MS access since I haven’t learned access before. After
joining to college I have learned the MS access were we can stores information. The
things that I have learned in access were very new knowledge to me, were access
is a database of collection of related data where
it stores information and viewed in many different ways.
And the thing I have learned in database is to store, add,
delete, and update the data in the database. It also provides various ways to
view the data in the database. For example, we can display data on screen in a
form or print out a report. Not only that in a database I have learned how to
make the relationship between the forms.
In the ICT class I have learned how to make students bio
data in access. By using table and form I have created the student’s bio data
where we can able to keep the record of the students. Not only that I have done
the calculation in the access, were we can perform the operation. It helps us
to make our work easier by using access.
Overall Microsoft Publisher is a well-rounded program, that
takes from other Microsoft programs to make a more specific and useful
application. It is a very useful tool for teachers to create a fun and
educational environment for students, in and out of the classroom.

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word
Microsoft word is an important education application. It is
important to process raw facts into meaningful information. It helps us to
create new innovative methods of teaching and learning. It also helps to
transmit educational materials and practice systematically in school and
university faster with higher quality. I believe Microsoft Word fits most of
the principle of universal design.
Microsoft word is equitable, due to the design being useful
and marketable for a variety of people, including teachers, business
professionals, and a long list of many other occupations. It is flexible in use
in how Microsoft Word provides a wide variety of templates for the user specific
needs, including a template for making a brochure, newsletter, blank document,
flyer, etc. It also has a useful tool bar that provides ways to insert charts,
tables, SmartArt and much more. This provides the user with a range of choices
in which method to use and the ability to use tools that are best suitable for
their needs.
It is one of the tools that help us to create our work
easier and faster .Before as a student in the school we tends to write and
practices a school leaving certificate and leave letter on
notebooks. It’s taking lots of time but after using MS words its make our work
easier and faster. Not only that one of the benefit of using MS words is by
learning and using Microsoft Word in school and collage we can create various
documents in future so that we don’t have to spend money on computer courses. We have learned to design invitation card to
our friends. So by learning various features of Microsoft Word as a future
teacher its make our work easier and faster.

Adobe Flash
Adobe Flash is a multimedia software platform used for
production of animations, rich Internet applications, desktop applications,
mobile applications, mobile games and web browser video players. Flash displays
text, vector graphics and raster graphics to provide animations, video games
and applications. It allows streaming of audio and video, and can capture
mouse, keyboard, microphone and camera input.
It was very interesting as well as challenging because the
content in this software is easy and interesting but in order to make the
animation even for a small duration of time, it consumed lots of time. If we
can spend good amount of time in making flash for animation then we can create
any kind of animation by using flash. By using flash I have created the
animation of man walking.
It was really interesting and easy, at the same time I felt
it very useful because we can process to create complex animation if we are
interested to do. We can also use it in the class to make it more interesting
and to gain attention from the student. Animation is a powerful tool used in planet. In the
learning and development world, animation needs to deliver information as efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure the audience.

Reflection 3
Powerpoint presentation
My next reflection is on Microsoft PowerPoint. This
technology is equitable in use since it can be used for a variety of reasons.
It can be used for presentations for lesson plans, projects, a visual representation,
portfolios and much more. PowerPoint meets the flexibility in use of variety of
choices with contrasting themes of PowerPoint. Each theme has a different set
of designed color options or sometimes even graphics. It also gives you choices
of which style of slides you want to add each time.
I believe the design
is simple and intuitive since it provides an easy design to follow with visible
tools to help assist you in creating your presentation. The tools are overall self-explanatory
but if you find trouble in finding a tool, we can search for it in the toolbar
the software provides. The software is designed to be of little maintenance of
making a simple presentation. This technology is computer based and therefore
does not meet the principle of size and space for approach and use.
As I look back on my presentation and the preparation that
when into it. I am amazed by the amount I’ve learned from this one small
exercise. This was my first proper presentation in a long time. Therefore I didn’t
have much practice presenting in the last few year and had to do a lot of work
preparing for it. Although there was a lot of work in preparing for this
exercise, improvements can always be made.
Before I started this exercise I really didn’t know the
amount of work that would go into a presentation. I thought I could put
together a presentation in 20 minutes and look over it once and be ready to
present it. I now know that this isn’t realistic if you want to make a good
presentation. My slide show alone took nearly an hour to decide what was going
to go into it and make it. I then had to look over it and look into things I was
going to say during each slide as the slides contained only small bullet points
that needed to be further explained. I definitely found that to make a presentation
on a topic the presenter must have an interest and a great knowledge of the
topic.
Power point is one of the effective teaching and learning tools,
it helps us to learn in our self-paced through various tools such as
assignments, computer etc. as a result the teaching and learning become more
productive and meaningful. Powerpoint allows us to create with activities such
as Flash cards, Field Trip Slideshows, Group Slideshows, students’ portfolios
etc….I have done some animation by using powerpoint for that just click on the

Reflection 2
Compare to our olden days, learning has changed a lot because of the advancement of the technology. Where teacher can use different methods to teach students. One of the method that we can teach students is by using Camtasia studio. Camtasia studio is two products in one, the screen recorder and video maker and editor. Before I was introduced to camtasia but I didn’t use it as I didn’t have any idea about it. After learning and using Camtasia software, I had used it and I noticed that it is much easier to use.
In Camtasia studio, we can record our voice by clicking the record button. We can import video or pictures from our computer and edit it using the features of Camtasia. Our module tutor taught Camtasia using demonstration method and lecture method. While learning we came across the merits and demerits of Camtasia. It is also useful for making presentation interactive and fun learning. We were asked to download software from the Chrome.
Later we were asked to do assignment on the topic related to the ICT and Math. As I have chose Math topic ‘Bisecting angle’. First we were asked to design a lesson plan on power point. Later we used Camtasia on the assignment that we have done on the power point. We have to make video of the presentation using our audio. First I found little complicated to use Camtasia as we have to record our own voice using presentation.
As a future teacher, I can use this concept in the teaching and learning context as teaching learning materials and I think it can help students understand better and make teaching and learning interesting. Moreover, the students can be motivated and become active an active learner.

Reflection 1
Information and communication technology (ICT) is an extended term for information technology (IT) which stresses the role of unified communication. After the lesson of ICT I have learned many things first that is how to create the site to cater for the learning and teaching. The second is much more useful site for the study served for teaching future. ICT changed me, us and the whole world. ICT changed me in a way of making sense of everything around me. ICT told me so many things that I do not know.
During the learning process tutor have provided the best information from the syllable, lecture to reference. In our 3rd semester, we have learned ‘Strategies for teaching ICT’. We use strategy to teach ICT subjects in order to provide a clear concept. To make learning more interactive and interesting for a long-term retentions. Some of the strategies that we can integrate in teaching ICT are Inductive, Deductive, Problem solving, Demonstration, Field trip and Individualized based teaching learning, exploratory method in learning, Discovery Learning, Robert Ganya, Simulation, Computer Skill, ADDIE model, ASSURE model. Every day we need to apply different action control strategies to successfully interact with ever changing environment.
On top of that, strategies are very useful in our future for teaching. We came across the role, characteristic, advantages and disadvantages of teaching strategies of ICT. It can be also apply in to make interactive lesson plan. Applying concept of instruction theory to design of computer-based training and multimedia based learning. The assumption is that different type of learning exists and that different instruction condition is mostly to bring about this different type of learning. It is quite effective strategies of teaching the disabilities student and now a day with the help of ICT I think it would be more effective to teach the students and helps the student learn effectively.
We learnt on computer skill that it is a basic fundamental skill or techniques where by learners need to be learned or acquired. No one is born with the talent. It is skill that can be learned through practice. Process skill is a skills used to manage and modify actions in the completing of daily living tasks, such as pacing oneself, choosing and using appropriate tools to complete a task, or organizing a task into a logical sequence for successful completion. One important thing that I have learnt was using Flipbook maker pro. Flipbook provides to build wonderful page flipping effect eBooks for PDF and images. We were asked to write reflection on teaching strategies of ICT and later we were asked to use flipbook maker pro. I found it is very effective software for ICT.
